Teaching requires patience and creativity.
I have been in the teaching industry since 2012. It started at UNSW Institute of languages, where I was a given the opportunity to teach university students English , as part of my practicum.
This grew into an interest, which became a passion later on.
I continued to teach English to non-native speakers. Later in 2013, I found myself a music teaching job, which involved primary school students. That's when the whole music teaching started.
I started teaching music at primary school and private lessons at home.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have come to realize that every teacher needs a strategy.
1) Always create creative environments ... Children get bored easily. You need to always create fun games, activities and work sheets
2) Get them to learn how to play leisure songs that interest them
3) Motivation and encouragement talk
4) Reward charts - prize will be given of they get all stickers for the chart
Note: If they're mischievous, no stickers will be awarded. If they are too noisy, you clap ten times and they will naturally follow. It's a system that all schools use to indicate that it's time to keep quiet and listen.
Teaching children is a handful. You need to be patient. They have a tendency to be mischievous and muck around. Getting them to pay attention will be difficult .... Children Are active and hyper ... Moving around and playing is what they love best. Be patient and you'll soon see the fruits of your labor.
